Lets Pin Shall We

Sometimes I find myself getting lost in pinterest and just browsing for hours (hope my work doesn't monitor their computers) After picking and choosing, here are my Favorite pins of the week... so far.
This is so motivating. You gotta be willing to put in the effort to see results
In love with the tan and pink... my two favorite colors to wear

I have done this so many times to people haha

I need to learn how to curl my hair, I have been searching Youtube for some tips

I always try to hide eating little treats but who am I hurting? ME!

I will do this DIY project asap!

So cute! Such a good snack at a Holiday party

Really like the colors in the picture.. it says fall all over it

She looks sophisticated and sexy at the same time. I love the outfit and hair

Love her hair and makeup

Need to learn new makeup tricks!

Happy Halloween Everyone!! If you are like me you decided to be "Pajama Girl" at work because frankly you just want to be comfy so hey! PJs it is! haha (Pardon the stiff smile, I took this on my way to work.. at a red light of course...)

I will leave you all with an awesome picture of a pumpkin that one of the artists at my work carved. He does this ever year and I swear they get better and better. The datail is amazing and he doesn't use a template. Enjoy!

Workout Wednesdays

If you are holding a donut in one hand and a coffee with three too many scoops of sugar and creamer in the other, put it down now... nice and easy.. there you go.. slowly push it away. Done and Done.

Do you have a permanent muffin top...when you aren't even wearing clothes?! Do you complain constantly about how you need to get in shape and shouldn't be eating this and yada yada?? Do you push off exercising to take an extra nap on the couch? Do you tell yourself it is okay to eat a brownie if you just eat the top... and then come back for another every commercial break??WE ALL HAVE! (Okay, maybe the last one was just me... and you Jen!)

I have decided that enough is enough. I want to be completely open and honest about my weight loss challenges and dedicate my Wednesday posts to health tips and exercise. I feel like sharing my goals and struggles will help motivate me to continue pushing myself . It has been soooooo hard for me to become motivated again to exercise when I get home from work but yet I find time to complain about how much I need to workout at least once every hour. I decided that I can't do this anymore. I can't keep telling myself "i'll do it tomorrow". Well, tomorrow is now today and I'm putting my excuses aside. I am not afraid to fail anymore. I am not one of those girls that can just eat normally and not exercise without gaining weight. I hate it but I have realized and accepted that it is just something I will always have to deal with to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

So for the one hundrenth million time, I am starting now...again. I want to feel good about myself and confident. I want to look at all the Holiday pics and be like "daymmm who's that??". I want to show up for Thanksgiving and not be salivating at the sight of all the food...and not have to wear my "1 size bigger" jeans so I can stuff my face and slowly go into a food coma after I scarf down my third plate of sweet potato pie. I refuse to be a member of the "New Years Resolution gym-goers" this year.. I REFUSE! I want to start now... not tomorrow... not in a month... now.

Sooo Brent and I dusted off his Insanity DVDs and started our journey to a sexxayy body last night. Insanity is very similar to P90X but there is a lot less breaks which suckkk! Obvs since we are beginners we took several breaks because not only were we shaking the floor (sorry if you live below us!), Lilly thought we were having fun and kept trying to jump on us. Side note-dog must be in a dif room when we are working out.

We are going to follow the Insanity schedule but also alternate nights for yoga and jogs depending on the weather and our mood.

The first night is always the worst, but you need to start somewhere right?? I think I have said that about 3 times over the past year. I always start exercising and getting in a great routine that I love and then I just burn myself out. I need to try and teach myself different ways to get in shape without doing the same thing all the time and getting bored with my routine. I have always been a gym or run kinda girl so I'm hoping this workout video will give me the extra boost I need to get to my ideal goal weight/ size.

I filled the whole apple juice bottle with water and drank the whole thing.

I will be updating you every week on Wednesday with my progress, accomplishments, struggles, etc. If you are confused why I chose the middle of the week to do an update, I can completely understand that. Im sure updating workout progress on Friday would be expected but there is a method to my madness. If you are like me, you look forward to Wednesday because it is the Hump Day in the working world. The day that once you survive it.... it is just all down hill until Friday.. you can taste the weekend. I figured Wednesday would be a good day for me to share how its been going and express any potential road blocks. Everyone needs a little encouragement to get over the hump and I want to be there for you to help you push it to the end of the week. Here's to day one!!
Any tips/ words of encouragement are much appreciated :)

Oh Sandy!

Goooood Morning everyone! If you are living on the east coast you are probably more than aware that there is a storm brewing. Every school, business, government is closed and their employees are home safe relaxing with a cup of coffee and a nice warm blanket. Me? No. I am sitting by my computer ... working from home. I was surprised my office didnt call us to come in normal time, we never get off. Yes, I am excited that I dont have to go to work and I can avoid a shower for atleast one more afternoon but really?? reading emails and entering orders while my pup and Brent are snuggled up on the couch... wahhhh. Welcome to the real world, I know :( So any who, Ill take a few minutes out of work to get ya alll updated with this past weekend.

As many of you may have guessed, I was Katniss from the Hunger Games and Brent was Peeta.

Since I have alot of layers in my hair, the side part was not working out as you can see so I had Brent's mom do a french braid so it would actually look decent. OMG in the other picture it looks like there was an orb following me that night! As you can see, it is in half of the picture on the left and then completely covering the whole picture on the right. I was totally creeped out but I kept telling myself it was only my Nana or from the fire pit outside. Either way.... so freaked out.
Brent and I came home Sunday afternoon because we weren't sure when the storm was going to get started so we wanted to make sure we were home in time to get everything secure on the porch and just relax. We went to starbucks and it completely kicked me in cleaning mode. I organized, scrubbed, dusted everything in the apartment. I have never seen it look so good. I love when I can come home to a clean space and everything look so pretty .

GREAT NEWS! Work just emailed and said our office is technically closed at 12pm today so that means IM DONE! My out of office message is up and im ready for a good lifetime movie or book. Everyone stay safe and warm! I will prob be doing alot of pinning and searching the web today for some new things to blog about so check in later!

High Five For Friday!

Good morning...Happy Friday....my favorite day of the week. Here are just a few exciting things about this past week.
  1. Brent and I ate dinner at Jason's Deli on Wednesday night. They serve very healthy/ organic foods that are made fresh. I got a turkey wrap with a side of tortilla chips and salsa & guac. Not only does this place have amazing food, they give you soft serve ice cream at the end of your meal... for free!! If you have one in your area you must go try it out.
  2. I am in love with Micheal Kors Jet set travel tote and I am determined to get one.. even if it is from a discount store or partially used. The only problem is... which one?!?! I love them all.. help! Which is your favorite?
  3. I found some awesome print outs online and decided to put them in some frames I had stored away. They all aren't placed together in the apartment I just bundled them together for the picture. Very cheap and easy DIY project.
  4. Just a hint at what my Halloween costume is.... I'm trying to use things I already have here at home.. so far I have only spent $12 on it. I will post pictures next week of the finished product.
  5. We went food shopping last night and I got alot of good fruits and veggies. Eating healthy always makes me feel good. Yummmmmm

How to Nail an Interview

Are you sitting at your desk at home or at your current job that you are unhappy with? Do you count the minutes until you get to go home? Do you dream of bettering yourself and finding a career? Did you graduate and still work at the place you did during the time you were in school??  If you answered yes to any of the above questions, you have come to the right spot!! Trust me you are not alone. I graduated in May of 2011 and I am still working for the same company I did when I was going to school. There is no room for me to grow here and if there was, I am not sure if I would want to.

Another question. Do you hateeeee when people ask what do you want to be when you grow up??? ME TOO. I am still so young and trying to figure out my purpose in life. I want to learn and experience and find what I want to be, I don't want to have to choose just yet. Yes, there are people who knew they were going to be a nurse since the age of 2, but there are also many of us who still to this day have no idea. Well, i've decided i'm going to get my shhhheat together and do something with my life. So if you are just like me, pay attention to the following tips about how to nail an interview and get your dream job.

  1. You MUST be confident not cocky. Even if you are sweating from head to toe, you need to act cool and calm and let your interviewer know that 'you got dis'. Tell yourself over and over that you are the perfect fit for this job and you are the candidate they are looking for.
  2. Do your research!!! You need to look up everything about the company and the position, take notes and understand their mission statement
  3. Write good questions to ask. ASK A LOT OF QUESTIONS. An interview is a two way interview. The company wants to know you did your research and are actually interested in them and not just getting paid. Make a list of 10-15 questions and ask as you are going along. It is okay to bring a notepad with the questions, no need to memorize and make yourself freak out even more.
  4. Spruce up your resume. Make sure you get just the right amount of information out there but do not give too much detail, that is what an interview is for. Ask for help! If you want your resume to look/ sound better, ask someone with more experience to help give you tips for your layout. Be simple. Keep it to one page. Use key words.
  5. Keep good eye-contact and really listen to what they are saying. You don't want to not pay attention and ask a question that was already answered.
  6. Always speak positively. Even if you loath your current job, dont bring that up in the interview. Do not get too personal, focus more on the job you are interviewing for.
  7. Make sure to eat and drink before. You don't want to be in the middle of the interview and have your stomach start growling. Also, in case you are super nervous its good to eat something before so you don't pass out.
  8. Make sure you know how to get to the building and know how long it will take you. It is TERRIBLE to show up to an interview late. DO NOT DO IT! Always show up early if you can.
  9. Sell yourself. You know why you are great for the company, tell them! Be comfortable, let them see your personality.
  10. Do a follow up email right when you get home. Thank them for meeting with you and restate why you believe you are the best candidate for the job. Let them know you are available if they have any questions that were left unanswered.
  11. Lastly, dress for the part! Wear neutral colors and nothing revealing. Take it easy on the makeup and jewelry. Pearl earrings and watch are perfect.
What to wear on an interview

BE YOURSELF!
Now go out there and kill em!! Good luck :)

Organization on the Brain!

So lately I have been OBSESSED with organizing and finding different ways to manage my day-to-day life. In my search for some organizing tips I came across a blog called I Heart Organizing. Jen (the blogger) shows you ways to organize and redecorate your home. I also found some awesome print outs, check em out!

There are wayyyyy more free printables to choose from! If you like what you see and you want to download them for yourself, you really need to link up below and give Jen a visit!
                                        IHeart Organizing
While I was on the I heart organizing page, another blog caught my attention. See Jane Work is another blog about how to take a space and make it decorative but useful and organized. I can not wait until I have money to make my home beautiful and have a amazing office space. For now, all I can do is live through blogs, pinterest and ikea/target... sigh. So after navigating around the blog I saw that there was a place for me to actually buy stuff! So i browsed... and browsed... added a few things to my shopping cart.. and browsed (if you havent caught on I will do anything to get distracted from my work). Needless to say, by the time I was done looking through all the categories I had almost $100 worth of stuff in my shopping cart. I obviously would never spend that much on decorating/organization things at this time, but its always nice to pretend I can afford everything I want. Here are some of the things I "pretended" I was going to purchase.

Some one please buy me all of these things. I told myself that if/when I get a better job, I will allow myself to go a little crazy with decorating. Its sad that my motivation to look for jobs is the possibility of buying new clothes and home/office accessories. If you like organizing and have about 2 hours to spare, go check out See Jane Work, you will not be disappointed!

I will leave you with a picture of my pup Lilly. I used an app called Aviary to add funny stickers to her face. I feel like this picture describes her personality. ENJOY!

P.S Hocus Pocus (my all-time favorite Halloween movie) is on!!!
What's your favorite Halloween movie??
