High Five for Friday!

This week flew by so fast! Since I have graduated college I have realized how fast weeks go by when you are living in the "read world". During the week I usually can not wait until Friday, but when the time comes, I kinda wish it would slow down! Hours turn into days and days turn into weeks and so on and so fourth. That is why I love High Five for Fridays because it gives me a chance to slow down and look back at everything I did the past week.

  1. I got an email last night from the guy I had 2 interviews with and he asked if I was available for a third interview this Saturday morning with the CEO and VP of recruiting. Apparently all of the third interviews are at a nice hotel restaurant in Annapolis. I googled it and this is one of the pictures it showed of the waiting room... which is where I will be. I am soooo nervous but soo excited at the same time! Please cross your fingers and pray for me. This is the final step and its my final chance to prove myself! Updates as soon as its done.
  2. Tuesday night I came home to this home cooked meal. Brent made pork chops, beans and green beans. mmmm so yummy he did a great job.
  3. As I previously mentioned I wore my pajamas to work on Halloween.. it was only natural for me to take naps in random spots throughout the day, right? (caught in the act)
  4. My friend Jen found this on Pinterest and I love it! It is a workout routine for the Walking Dead. Every time they do or say a certain thing on the show, there is an exercise that you have to do. For example: if someone kills a walker, you have to do 5 crunches. Im going to try it next Sunday haha
  5. Every time Brent went to the window during the hurricane to look outside, Lilly was right by his side scooping out the premises. She is his little sidekick, but she is also a momma's girl.
How was your week?
I hope you all stayed safe and dry during Sandy.

Wheel of Color

I was browsing through my blog posts and noticed I talk a lot about neutrals... I promise I am not that boring. I put together a collection of fall pieces I can't live without that does not include black, grey, white, creme, tan, ANY of that.

Wheel of Color

LOFT v neck cardigan / LOFT blouse / American Eagle Outfitters skinny leg jeans / UGG Australia shearling booties, $340 / NIKE waffle shoes / Flower earrings / J.Crew j crew / Crochet infinity scarve / Revlon eyeshadow, $21 / Essie nail polish

  1. I love deep red nail polish especially during fall/ winter months. It is such a pretty warm color and it goes really well with my light skin complexion.
  2. I have been searching for the perfect coral bubble necklace that is reasonably priced. I love jewelry and makeup but I have limits to what I will allow myself to spend on these types of things...Once I get a big girl job, that might change though haha
  3. Petite flower earrings are the best. They are tiny but give a splash of color to any outfit.
  4. This neon yellow sweater has my name all over it. It is plain but a little obnoxious. I love it.
  5. Same goes for neon nike shoes.
  6. Green is normally not a color I wear but when I shop I try to find styles I like and chose them in a color I don't own to try and add some variety.
  7. This pea green scarf goes great with a pair of dark jeans, basic white long sleeve shirt and some brown boots...topped off with a camel colors purse. Perfecto!
  8. I found these at the mall last weekend with Brent's sister. They are blue Uggs that has a layer of sequins that you can brush either front or back to make the shoe look more blue or more silver. Def conversation piece that's for sure.
  9. Can never go wrong with a basic pair of blue jeans.
  10. When I want to spice up my daily makeup and add some color, I tend to go towards light purples or any color with a purple tint because it really brings out the green in my hazel eyes.
So there you have it people... there is color in my life!

So many options!

I know the last thing people want to think about after stuffing their face with Halloween candy is trying to fit into a bridesmaids dress, but I am in a dilemma people!!
Next summer I am in 3 weddings, two of my best friends and my favorite cousin/ pretend older sister. This is my first time being in anyone's wedding and they all decided to get married at the same time so I am going to be a very busyyyy lady during this next year and my wallet will not be very happy with me.

I think it is really cool when a bride lets her bridesmaids choose their dress style because every girl has a different shape and we all want to look and feel fabulous and confident. My cousin Shannon has let us pick out the style we want and this decision has become a little harder than I anticipated! I am stuck between the 4 dresses pictured above. Since it is a summer wedding, I would prob want to be in a shorted dress because I sweat at the sight of heat, but I am drawn to that one long dress it is just so elegant.

Which one is your favorite and why??
I need all of the help I can get!

Workout Wednesdays

If you are holding a donut in one hand and a coffee with three too many scoops of sugar and creamer in the other, put it down now... nice and easy.. there you go.. slowly push it away. Done and Done.

Do you have a permanent muffin top...when you aren't even wearing clothes?! Do you complain constantly about how you need to get in shape and shouldn't be eating this and yada yada?? Do you push off exercising to take an extra nap on the couch? Do you tell yourself it is okay to eat a brownie if you just eat the top... and then come back for another every commercial break??WE ALL HAVE! (Okay, maybe the last one was just me... and you Jen!)

I have decided that enough is enough. I want to be completely open and honest about my weight loss challenges and dedicate my Wednesday posts to health tips and exercise. I feel like sharing my goals and struggles will help motivate me to continue pushing myself . It has been soooooo hard for me to become motivated again to exercise when I get home from work but yet I find time to complain about how much I need to workout at least once every hour. I decided that I can't do this anymore. I can't keep telling myself "i'll do it tomorrow". Well, tomorrow is now today and I'm putting my excuses aside. I am not afraid to fail anymore. I am not one of those girls that can just eat normally and not exercise without gaining weight. I hate it but I have realized and accepted that it is just something I will always have to deal with to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

So for the one hundrenth million time, I am starting now...again. I want to feel good about myself and confident. I want to look at all the Holiday pics and be like "daymmm who's that??". I want to show up for Thanksgiving and not be salivating at the sight of all the food...and not have to wear my "1 size bigger" jeans so I can stuff my face and slowly go into a food coma after I scarf down my third plate of sweet potato pie. I refuse to be a member of the "New Years Resolution gym-goers" this year.. I REFUSE! I want to start now... not tomorrow... not in a month... now.

Sooo Brent and I dusted off his Insanity DVDs and started our journey to a sexxayy body last night. Insanity is very similar to P90X but there is a lot less breaks which suckkk! Obvs since we are beginners we took several breaks because not only were we shaking the floor (sorry if you live below us!), Lilly thought we were having fun and kept trying to jump on us. Side note-dog must be in a dif room when we are working out.

We are going to follow the Insanity schedule but also alternate nights for yoga and jogs depending on the weather and our mood.

The first night is always the worst, but you need to start somewhere right?? I think I have said that about 3 times over the past year. I always start exercising and getting in a great routine that I love and then I just burn myself out. I need to try and teach myself different ways to get in shape without doing the same thing all the time and getting bored with my routine. I have always been a gym or run kinda girl so I'm hoping this workout video will give me the extra boost I need to get to my ideal goal weight/ size.

I filled the whole apple juice bottle with water and drank the whole thing.

I will be updating you every week on Wednesday with my progress, accomplishments, struggles, etc. If you are confused why I chose the middle of the week to do an update, I can completely understand that. Im sure updating workout progress on Friday would be expected but there is a method to my madness. If you are like me, you look forward to Wednesday because it is the Hump Day in the working world. The day that once you survive it.... it is just all down hill until Friday.. you can taste the weekend. I figured Wednesday would be a good day for me to share how its been going and express any potential road blocks. Everyone needs a little encouragement to get over the hump and I want to be there for you to help you push it to the end of the week. Here's to day one!!
Any tips/ words of encouragement are much appreciated :)

Oh Sandy!

Goooood Morning everyone! If you are living on the east coast you are probably more than aware that there is a storm brewing. Every school, business, government is closed and their employees are home safe relaxing with a cup of coffee and a nice warm blanket. Me? No. I am sitting by my computer ... working from home. I was surprised my office didnt call us to come in normal time, we never get off. Yes, I am excited that I dont have to go to work and I can avoid a shower for atleast one more afternoon but really?? reading emails and entering orders while my pup and Brent are snuggled up on the couch... wahhhh. Welcome to the real world, I know :( So any who, Ill take a few minutes out of work to get ya alll updated with this past weekend.

As many of you may have guessed, I was Katniss from the Hunger Games and Brent was Peeta.

Since I have alot of layers in my hair, the side part was not working out as you can see so I had Brent's mom do a french braid so it would actually look decent. OMG in the other picture it looks like there was an orb following me that night! As you can see, it is in half of the picture on the left and then completely covering the whole picture on the right. I was totally creeped out but I kept telling myself it was only my Nana or from the fire pit outside. Either way.... so freaked out.
Brent and I came home Sunday afternoon because we weren't sure when the storm was going to get started so we wanted to make sure we were home in time to get everything secure on the porch and just relax. We went to starbucks and it completely kicked me in cleaning mode. I organized, scrubbed, dusted everything in the apartment. I have never seen it look so good. I love when I can come home to a clean space and everything look so pretty .

GREAT NEWS! Work just emailed and said our office is technically closed at 12pm today so that means IM DONE! My out of office message is up and im ready for a good lifetime movie or book. Everyone stay safe and warm! I will prob be doing alot of pinning and searching the web today for some new things to blog about so check in later!

High Five For Friday!

Good morning...Happy Friday....my favorite day of the week. Here are just a few exciting things about this past week.
  1. Brent and I ate dinner at Jason's Deli on Wednesday night. They serve very healthy/ organic foods that are made fresh. I got a turkey wrap with a side of tortilla chips and salsa & guac. Not only does this place have amazing food, they give you soft serve ice cream at the end of your meal... for free!! If you have one in your area you must go try it out.
  2. I am in love with Micheal Kors Jet set travel tote and I am determined to get one.. even if it is from a discount store or partially used. The only problem is... which one?!?! I love them all.. help! Which is your favorite?
  3. I found some awesome print outs online and decided to put them in some frames I had stored away. They all aren't placed together in the apartment I just bundled them together for the picture. Very cheap and easy DIY project.
  4. Just a hint at what my Halloween costume is.... I'm trying to use things I already have here at home.. so far I have only spent $12 on it. I will post pictures next week of the finished product.
  5. We went food shopping last night and I got alot of good fruits and veggies. Eating healthy always makes me feel good. Yummmmmm
